Frequent listening to Pirith is a great help to any lay-clergyman, to save his life, to get rid of evil, disease and inhuman errors.
The Dhamma of the Blessed Ones is a wonderful thing. That Dhamma is as amazing as it is hard for us to believe. In that Dhamma the qualities of the Supreme Buddha are explained. The virtues of the Dhamma are explained. The virtues of the Arya Maha Sangha are explained. The Four Noble Truths are explained. Bojjanga Dhammas such as Sapta Bojjanga are explained in detail. Similarly, in order to develop the path of Nirvana, the signs that should be increased in the form of Dhamma meditation are explained. We chant the great Sutta sermons which express these ancient Dhammas as Pirith. It is not uncommon for us to chant and listen to these Pirith sermons. It was something that was very close to us.
It is important to recite these Pirith sermons as well as to listen to the Pirith. Both chanting and listening to Pirith sermons are very auspicious. Therefore, we should all think of doing these two things of preaching and listening to these Piriths very well.
